NOTICE OF ADOPTION OF ORDINANCE 2022-06, AMENDING CODE OF ORDINANCES
CH. 1 TOWN ORGANIZATION & ADMINISTRATION, CREATING A MUNICIPAL COURT
Pursuant to Wis. Stat. § 60.80, the Town of Springfield, Dane County, Wisconsin, hereby posts notice that at its regular Town Board Meeting held on October 18, 2022, the Town Board amended the Town’s Code of Ordinances, Chapter 1 to create a municipal court.
The Town is experiencing more instances of ordinance violations that are not remedied upon notification and direction by the Town. Municipal courts offer less costly and more timely resolutions than pursuit of enforcement in circuit court and more convenience for local defendants than traveling to Madison.
The Town Board voted to amend the Town’s Organization and Administration Ordinance to allow for creation of a municipal court.
